Job Description

We are seeking a Java Architect with over 10 years of experience to lead the design and implementation of large-scale PEGA BPM solutions for American Express. This role is critical for driving enterprise platform migrations, disaster recovery planning, and the integration of mission-critical financial workflows.

The Role at a Glance

  • Certifications: Pega CSA/CSSA, Certified Scrum Master, and SAFe Practitioner (Preferred)

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Design and lead large-scale enterprise solutions using PEGA workflows, focusing on consolidation projects that improve platform resiliency and business agility.

  • Migration & Optimization: Execute critical platform migrations and workflow automation, optimizing background processes (Agents, Jobs, Queue Processors, Listeners).

  • Systems Integration: Architect complex integrations utilizing REST, SOAP, MQ, and File protocols, adhering to high-level security standards (Keystore, HMAC, A2A).

  • Monitoring & Observability: Implement logging frameworks with Splunk and OpenTelemetry to track end-to-end customer journeys and cross-application interactions.

  • Agile Governance: Lead cross-functional Agile teams, managing global project deliveries and ensuring alignment with SAFe principles.

  • Disaster Recovery: Plan and execute DR exercises for mission-critical enterprise platforms to ensure zero-downtime compliance.

Required Skills

  • Core Tech: Extensive experience in Java, Pega A&G, and BPM solutions.

  • Infrastructure: In-depth knowledge of IBM WebSphere, Kafka, and asynchronous API design.

  • Security & Risk: Strong understanding of Data Security, networking, DBMS systems, and risk management within the financial domain.

  • DevOps: Proven experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines for Pega-based environments.

  • Communication: Expert stakeholder engagement and resource planning skills, with a track record of managing global geographies.
