About the Role

Wing is seeking a talented and dedicated Full-time Remote Databricks + DevOps Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing our data and machine learning infrastructure on Databricks, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency through robust DevOps practices. You'll contribute to building cutting-edge solutions that power our business and impact our users globally.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and machine learning workflows leveraging Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines for data engineering and MLOps initiatives, automating deployment and testing processes.
  • Manage and provision cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) supporting Databricks environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and robust systems.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of data platforms and pipelines, ensuring high availability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices within our data and cloud environments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering standards, tools, and processes.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of professional experience in a Databricks, DevOps, Data Engineering, or MLOps role.
  • Strong proficiency with the Databricks platform, including Spark, Delta Lake, Databricks notebooks, and Databricks workspaces.
  • Demonstrated expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), specifically in services relevant to data and compute.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with DevOps principles, including version control (Git), CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins), and automated testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with MLOps frameworks and tools for model versioning, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Databricks Certified, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
